For big name brands like McDonald’s, it’s crucial to get your marketing and promotion spot on — especially on big holidays.

Mistakes do happen, though.

On Friday morning, the official @McDonaldsCorp account posted what we’re guessing was probably a scheduled tweet. The idea was clearly to promote some kind of Black Friday offer.

Unfortunately, things didn’t quite go to plan.

Oh dear.

At the time of writing, that tweet has been up for over three-and-a-half hours. Here’s the screengrab, for when it inevitably gets deleted:

It might not have been what McDonald’s originally had planned, but Twitter certainly enjoyed it.

And ultimately, someone pointed out the accidental upside to all this.

It’s a fair point: that tweet has now been shared over 4000 times, which is roughly 4000 more shares than their last tweet got. Every cloud, and all that.

Mashable has reached out to McDonald’s for comment.
