Report: U.S. Considers Airstrikes on ISIS in the Philippines

The United States and the Philippines are considering an agreement that would allow the U.S. to conduct airstrikes against ISIS-aligned militants in the country's southern islands, defense officials told NBC News. The plan would reportedly allow the U.S. to conduct strikes, mostly by drones, in the southern region where Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has declared martial law. Visiting Duterte in Manila on Monday, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said the U.S. was already providing the Philippines with military support in the form of "intelligence capabilities," planes, and drones.
